Went Up The Hill
Went Up the Hill is a 2024 psychological drama with supernatural elements directed by Samuel Van Grinsven. The story follows Jack (Dacre Montgomery), a man who travels to remote New Zealand for the funeral of his estranged mother. There he meets her widow Jill (Vicky Krieps), whom he’s never met before. After the funeral, his mother’s spirit begins to haunt and possess both Jack and Jill, using their bodies in a haunting nocturnal interplay that blurs the line between grief, identity, and unfinished relationships. The film explores loss, emotional bonds, and coming to terms with the past through an eerie, introspective lens.
