The Stringer
This 2025 documentary investigates one of the most iconic images from the Vietnam War — the “Napalm Girl” photograph — and raises the controversial claim that the real photographer was a Vietnamese freelance “stringer”, Nguyen Thanh Nghe, not the credited American photographer Nick Ut. Over a two-year investigation involving interviews, forensic timeline reconstruction, and archival research, the film tries to uncover the true authorship of the photo and challenge decades-old attribution.
